Getting Around Town

Ride Shares & Taxi's

While taxis and rideshares are accessible in Big Bear, it's essential to be mindful of their reliability, particularly during peak weekends or busy seasons. While these can be convenient for getting around the area, the limited availability of drivers and the surge in demand during popular times can lead to extended wait times or even unavailability. It is recommended to have a backup plan  to avoid the risk of being stranded.

Bike Rentals

Big Bear Lake is a bike-friendly destination, and you can explore the town and its surroundings on two wheels. You can bring your own bicycle or rent one from various bike rental shops in the area. There are a few different bike rental companies around the lake depending on your location. Bike options include mountain bikes, beach cruisers and e-bikes. When looking for a bike rental location, also consider contacting ski and snowboard shops as they often also rent bikes during spring, summer and fall seasons.

Big Bear Trolley

The Big Bear Trolley is a convenient transportation option that can make it easier for guests to travel to shops, dinner venues, and ski resorts, especially during busy times. The trolley service provided by the Big Bear Valley Transit Authority operates on multiple routes, connecting popular destinations within Big Bear Lake.  It allows visitors to hop on and off at various stops without the hassle of finding parking or dealing with traffic congestion. This makes it particularly useful during peak tourist seasons when parking spaces may be limited and traffic can be heavy.
